78th SAWE International Conference – May 18-23, 2019

The Hampton Roads Chapter of the Society of Allied Weight Engineers is pleased to invite you to the 78th Annual International Conference on Mass Properties Engineering. The host chapter committee is preparing a program that includes technical sessions, Standards & Practices sessions, and multiple training classes at Hilton Norfolk – “The Main” in downtown Norfolk, Virginia.  The technical content for the conference is designed to provide important information that can help you with efficiency, precision, or innovative ideas regarding your daily work responsibilities; therefore we believe your organization’s investment in time and resources to enable you to attend will be well spent! This conference will detail many of the technical topics ongoing in mass properties industries, innovative ideas from vendors, and showcase lessons learned.

Priscilla Tasker is a public relations ambassador for one of the world’s most recognizable brand icons, the Goodyear blimp. She is a graduate of Kent State University’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, having earned a Bachelor of Science in public relations in 2008.

Today, Priscilla is one of three public relations specialists who manage the Goodyear blimp’s broadcast network, news media, customer and community relationships. In her current role, she manages the blimp’s west coast sports coverage schedule and acts as an on-the-ground liaison to network production teams on event days. She has coordinated aerial coverage for a number of the nation’s most-watched events, including the U.S. Open of golf (2015), the NBA Finals (2016-2018), the Academy Awards red carpet arrivals (2015-2018), the Grammy’s (2017) and the Rose Bowl Parade and Bowl games (2015-2018). She has overseen external media efforts that have garnered national coverage of milestone events, including two airship retirements, three new Goodyear Blimp christenings, multiple cross-country tours and the ground breaking facility upgrades at the Goodyear Airship Operations Base in Carson, California.

The Southwest Regional Conference Was a Success

DESCRIPTION: Take a photo-journal trip across the globe in search of Martian terrain.  The quest to understand the history of water, and possibly life, on Mars takes shape here on Earth, as NASA scientists seek out Mars Analogs.  Ride in the backseat as we visit the Atacama in Chile and the Great Salt Lake in Utah, and discuss some engineering behind the search.
