Abstract
For proper guidance, the mass of the launch vehicle must be determined with the least uncertainty. Analytical expressions are developed to calculate the uncertainty in the vehicle mass. Application of these expressions to the booster and second stage yields data that are useful in minimizing the uncertainty and in making operation decisions.
