Abstract

Weighing of aircraft to determine weights, distribution and center of gravity is becoming more and more a critical and necessary operation. In order to achieve the desired goals, ten basic requirements have been set forth for the second generation of new weighing systems. These requirements involve accuracy, repeatability, linearity, simplicity, portability, ruggedness, size/weight, maintainability, calibration and temperature correction. These have been achieved in two prototype systems that have been in operation for the past five years.
