Abstract

Rapidly rising military aircraft acquisition and operating costs have placed an increasing demand on the cost assessment of emerging technologies. The life cycle cost analysis process discussed in this paper is a parametric procedure which uses outputs from a vehicle sizing program in conjunction with operating and planning parameters as inputs to a cost model. In this way design parameter sensitivity to cost and its impact on new technology can be evaluated for each of the aircraft life cycle phases.
