Abstract

This paper is in fact not a technical paper, but a presentation. However, the viewgraphs have been copied and are included to make available the overview of the presentation. With the ever-increasing cost of military contracts, it has become more and more important for weapon system to be evaluated for a mission analysis optimization. This can work in conjunction with the mass properties engineer in striving for a minimum size, minimum weight airplane. In addition, mission analysis is emphasizing the need for mass properties engineering in many new fields. A highly mobile army needs to be weight conscious due to the air transport requirements. It new appears the mission analysis group and the mass properties group will be allied in developing future weapon system.
