Abstract

This paper summarizes the definition of five current technology commercial transport airplanes with integrated active controls systems. Their potential performance and economic improvements relative to a Conventional Baseline Airplane are presented. Weight assessments of active controls functions, a summary of the wing structure detailed weight analysis,and center-of-gravity management (balance and loadabi1ity) data are also discussed. *This paper reports work accomplished under NASA contracts NAS1-14742 and NAS1-15325.
