Abstract

This paper presents techniques for estimating airframe structural elements (TEASE); these techniques aid in determining and refining cost goals that are sensitive to the structural concepts and to the materials and techniques used in construction. Cost is estimated by using the output of automated design synthesis program mass cost drivers. During previous applications of TEASE, conducted under contract with the Air Force Flight Dynamics Laboratory, many areas for further study were defined. Our latest contractual effort is directed toward these areas.
