Abstract
In July of 1970 the S t . Louis Chapter decided to establish a Student Chapter of S.A.W.E. at the University of Missouri at Rolla. The anticipated benefits of a Student Chapter are, greater industry and university coordination, awareness of Mass Properties and Weight Engineering problems, increased possibility of establishing short courses and and upgrading the professional status of Mass Properties and Weight Engineering. The paper will discuss the establishment of the student chapter at UMR, proposed and revisions and additions to the National By-Laws and the mutual benefits and results obtained by the SAWE.
