Abstract

Great achievements have been made during recent years in the reduction of the weight of airborne electronic systems. In reviewing these feats, it becomes apparent that much of this weight reduction has come about even though organized weight control effort at many electronic companies is lacking. Many of the problems that confronted the Electronic Weight Control Engineer on aircraft still exist. In the space age, he is being confronted with many new problems. Several possible solutions to these problems are discussed, along with some recent accomplishments.
