D E Dudenhoefer: 229. The Application of Digital Computers to the Calculation of Moments of Inertia of Aircraft Wings. 1959.

Abstract

In order to demonstrate the use of computers in this paper, the terminology of moments of inertia is first defined, and then a specific example is outlined. The need for moments of inertia is described, and sectioning a wing for moment of inertia calculation is demonstrated. Next, the application of this problem to high speed digital computer use is demonstrated. A completely automatic method of moment of inertia calculation was developed. Finally, a brief cost analysis is included.
