H C Sanders: 227. The Economics of Weight Control – High Performance Aircraft and Orbital Systems. 1959.

Abstract

It is the intent of this paper to provide the Weight Engineer with methods for evaluating the importance of a pound and to give reasons for rigid weight control. The discussion is divided into three sections, each dealing with a different type vehicle: high performance aircraft, ballistic missiles, and orbital type vehicles. Using hypothetical cases, one pound of weight growth is converted to a dollar and cent value.
