Abstract
The problems associated with weight prediction of surface-to-surface ballistic rocket missiles are discussed in this paper.
A method of weight analysis for use in preliminary weight estimation and design optimization studies is presented. The analysis includes those design parameters which significantly influence missile weight, eg, payload, range, burnout velocity and altitude, number of stages, mass ratios, propellant specific impulse, thrust, maximum acceleration and flight path. An illustrative example is given.
