116. The Chem-Mill Story. 1955.
Abstract
Reprint of article on Chemical Milling from American Machinist Publication from September 13, 1954. Article describes the uses on sculpting Aluminum and Titanium sections down to remove weight. Tolerances are more accurate than equivalent maching (+/- 0.002 vs +/- 0.010). Associated costs are given with chemical milling being far cheaper than standard machining. Many parts examples are given to illustrate the advantages of chemical milling.
