Abstract
This paper provides a conceptual estimation method for moments of inertia (MOIs) that may be applied to air, space, land, and marine vehicles. The approach is to divide the radii of gyration by a characteristic length and analyze the resulting ratio. The relationship between these ratios and the distribution of mass is established to provide the means of estimating MOIs.
