Abstract

Weight Growth is examined in an attempt to identify its major constituents to classify them in a manner which will enable the mass properties engineer to intelligently pin-point the causes of weight growth. These cuases have been termed Weight Growth Contributors, andhave been analyzed to provide an indication of relative magnitude of their effect upon weight growth. These indicators are called Non-Optimum Factors and find their origin in analytical methods. This paper presents a preliminary list of weight growth contributors and a proposed method of establishing a standardized procedure for the collection, processing, and dissemination of empirical data which will form the basis for subsequent weight prediction philosophy.
