Abstract
This paper was presented at the Annual National Conference of the Society of Aeronautical Weight Engineers at Seattle, Washington, May 14-17, 1962. A method is developed for determining the interrelation of weight estimates for various components in a standard line of passenger vehicles. The compounded affect of these weight estimates on the total weight of the vehicle, together with the unit weight factors for increase in the weight of any individual component, is then established. A weight-cost factor is developed. Application of the program to aircraft and missile technology is discussed.
