Abstract
This paper was presented at the Twentieth National Conference of the Society of Aeronautical Weight Engineers at Akron, Ohio, May 15 – 18, 1961. This report covers a Local Service Airline’s experience with the calculation of information for Runway – Gross Weights and is presented to the Airline Committee of the Society with recommendations on particular areas where the committee could assist the Airline industry in establishing needed standards.
It points out the variety of information which the operator needs to utilize for computation of a resultant, some of such information being of a questionable nature. Secondly, the variance in similar information as presented by the different aircraft manufactures in their approved Flight Manuals is another area of differences.
Standardization is a long range goal; however, efforts are rewarding with simplification and accuracy of useable information for each specific operator.
