Abstract
Performance analysis of Operational Data from Pan American Airways, Union De transports Aeriens, and Airlift International for the various aircrafat types including Boeing 707-300C, Douglas DC-8-55 and Douglas DC-7-CF. The paper provides a description of the operational experience with an onboard weight and balance sytem developed by Fairchild Controls. The paper compares weight and CG data from 15 STAN system installations representing over 6000 takeoffs, compared to calculated weight based on the cargo manifests,normalized as a % of Mean Aerodynamic Chord (MAC).
